Christmas Cheer

The Christmas Spirit seized us rather later but with all the more enthusiasm..two days before Christmas we were chopping, beating and whipping fruit, eggs and cream for various goodies.

Greek Shortbread"

Roast and chop almonds:

Beat sugar, butter and eggs:

Add a teaspoon of cinnamon, the almonds and some flour, then shape into crescents

Douse with icing sugar when done.

These little biscuits are just superb and only lasted four days in our house (well, it was a large batch).

And on Christmas day, Pavlova for dessert, of course:

  1. Oh my... that Pavlovian instinct is coming out again. That's some hardcore foodporn there.. not for the faint hearted of course! ;P

    The almond shortbreads (kourabiethes)look a treat and that pavlova... well m'dear, with something that tempting to the tastebuds you could conquer the world!
